Red Rauschke, age 73, of New Prague, died peacefully in the loving presence of his family on Wednesday, November 20, 2019 at his home. Red was born on July 28, 1946 in Willmar, Minnesota to Leonard and Lorraine (Wondra) Rauschke. He graduated from Montgomery High School and entered the US Army in 1969 and served in Vietnam. He married the love of his life, Karen D.
Terrence J. “Terry” Schoenecker, age 55, of New Prague, died peacefully surrounded by his family on Friday, November 15, 2019 at Ridgeview Medical Center in Le Sueur. Terry was born on August 2, 1964 in New Prague to Erwin H. and Mary E.
Alvin Fredrick August “Gunner” Winterfeldt, 80, of Montgomery, passed away on Saturday, Nov. 2, 2019, at Traditions in Montgomery. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 6, from 9 to 11 a.m. at St. John Lutheran Church in Montgomery with funeral service to follow at 11 a.m. with Pastor Jason Pollington officiating.
Interment will be held in St. John Lutheran Cemetery in Montgomery.
Alvin was born on January 4, 1939, in Montgomery to Edwin and Helen (Kukacka) Winterfeldt. He was a graduate of Le Center High School.
Marie “Bobbie” Hruska, 91, of Montgomery, passed away on Tuesday, Oct. 29, 2019, at Central Health Care in Le Center.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, Nov. 2, from 9 to 11 a.m. at Schoenbauer Funeral Home in Montgomery. Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with Father George Grafsky officiating. Interment will be held in St. Joseph Cemetery in Lexington. Lucille R. Nelson, age 96, of New Prague, died peacefully, surrounded by her family on Saturday, October 26, 2019 at Abbott-Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis. Lucille was born on September 13, 1923 in St. Thomas, MN to Frank and Gertrude A. (Benzick) Ginter. She was raised in the St. Thomas/Lexington area, attended country school for a short time, then St. Wenceslaus Catholic School, and graduated with the class of 1941 from New Prague High School. Ruth Annette Le Brun, 82, of Montgomery, passed away on Wednesday, Oct. 23, 2019 at her home. Visitation will be held on Friday, Oct. 25 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Schoenbauer Funeral Home in Montgomery. Mass of Christian Burial will be on Saturday, Oct. 26 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Canice Catholic Church in Kilkenny with visitation one hour prior at the church. Interment will be held in Calvary Cemetery in Kilkenny.

Ronald S. Bergstrom (‘Bubs’) of Northfield formerly of Elko, MN, age 93, passed away peacefully on October 10, 2019 at Three Links Care Center, Northfield, MN. Preceded in death by parents Joseph and Florence Bergstrom of Elko, MN; sister Doris (Raymond) Cousins of Worthington, MN; brothers Loren (Vi) Bergstrom of Chaska; Duane Bergstrom of New Market/Morristown, MN. Survived by sister Marcella ‘Marcy’ (Gordon) Tripp of Santa Clarita, CA; Sister-in-law Bernice ‘Sis’ (the late Duane) of New Market/Morristown, MN. Loved by 13 nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
Herbert “Frank” Thomas, 90, of Montgomery, died on Saturday, Oct. 12, 2019, at Central Health Care in Le Center. Visitation will be held on Thursday, Oct. 17, from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. with a rosary at 10 a.m. and Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 a.m. at Most Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Montgomery.
Interment will be in St. Scholastica Catholic Cemetery in Heidelberg.
Robert J. Hanek, 79, of Faribault, passed away on October 12, 2019 at Three Links Care Center in Northfield after a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease.
Bob was born on June 5, 1940 to Augusta S. and John A. Hanek in rural Le Sueur County. He graduated from high school in Montgomery, MN and then spent six years serving in the U.S. Army. He married Carol A. Sensibaugh on October 26, 1963 and they made their home and raised their family in Faribault. Bob was employed for over 40 years at McQuay’s in Faribault until his retirement.
Novotny, Gillard, age 84 of South St. Paul, passed away September 25, 2019 at United Hospital in Saint Paul, MN. Preceded in death by his wife, Marion, parents Martin & Mary Novotny, and siblings, Stella Vlasak, Marty Novotny, Millie Morin, and sister-in-law Donna Beckers.
Carol Josephine Lilla, 68, died unexpectedly Friday, Sept. 20 in Montgomery.
There will be a Celebration of Life for her on Friday, Sept. 27 at 4 p.m. at the TCU High School Gym followed by a social gathering in the school’s Commons area.
Carol was born on December 22, 1950, in Winona to Francis (Joe) Lilla and Lois (Berg) Lilla. She graduated from Winona Senior High School in 1969.
Glenn Edward Wondra, 88, passed away on Wednesday, Sept. 18, 2019, at Traditions of Montgomery.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 25 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Schoenbauer Funeral Home in Montgomery. Funeral services will be on Thursday, Sept. 26 at 11 a.m. with visitation one-hour prior, all at the funeral home, with Father George Grafsky officiating. Betty Marie Sapp was born to John George Wohlers and Amelia Margaret Wittman, September 8, 1927, in the Wohlers’ farmhouse east of Le Center, Minnesota. She was a baptized and confirmed member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in LeCenter. She attended country school through second grade. When her oldest sister, Ruth, started high school, Betty began attending school in town. She graduated from McKinley High School in 1945.
Robert Lawrence Dvorak, 93, of Montgomery, died on Thursday, Aug. 29, 2019, at Mala Strana Health Care in New Prague. Visitation will be held on Thursday, Sept. 5, from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. with Memorial Mass of Christian Burial following at 11:30 a.m., all at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Montgomery. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery in Montgomery. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Most Holy Redeemer Catholic School blessed be his memory.
Franklin (Frank) George Breen, 81, of Montgomery, died on Thursday, Aug. 15, 2019, at Augustana Lakeside Community Home in Dassel. Visitation was held on Friday, August 23, 10 a.m. to 12 noon with funeral service following at 12 noon, all at Schoenbauer Funeral Home in Montgomery. Interment will be at a later date.
Frank was born on May 2, 1938, in Armour, SD to George W. and Ella J. (Herron) Breen. He graduated from Armour High School and also Southern State College in Springfield, SD. Frank was united in marriage to Jackie Lineback on August 19, 1961, in SD.
