James “Chester” Retka, 85, of Montgomery, passed away on Friday, Feb. 15, 2019, at his home in Montgomery. Visitation will be Sunday, Feb. 17, from 3 to 7 p.m. at Schoenbauer Funeral Home in Montgomery. Mass of Christian Burial will be on Monday, Feb. 18 at 10 a.m. at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Montgomery, visitation one hour prior at the funeral Home. Interment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery in Lexington. Military Honors will be provided by the Montgomery area Honor Guard.

Kathleen Margaret Tiede, 73, of Montgomery, passed away on Wednesday, Feb. 13, 2019, at her home in Montgomery. Visitation will be Saturday, March 2 at 11 a.m. at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Montgomery, with Mass of Christian Burial following at 11 a.m. Burial will be at a later date.
Kathy was born on November 25, 1945, in St Peter to Claire and Frances (Simonette) Thomas. Kathy attended Cleveland High School.

Kucera, Robert C. , age 93 of Bloomington, MN, passed away peacefully January 30, 2019. Robert was born April 7, 1925 in Montgomery, Minnesota. He attended the Immaculate Conception High School in Lonsdale and then pursued undergraduate studies at the College of St. Thomas where he received degrees in business administration and economics in 1948.  Bob continued his education at the St. Paul College of Law graduating in 1952. He served three years in the U.S. Air Force during World War II including service in Guam and the Philippines.

Harry Dietz, age 96, of New Prague, died peacefully on Sunday, February 3, 2019 at Mala Strana Rehabilitation Center. Harry was born on January 30, 1923 in Lanesburgh Township, Le Sueur County, Minnesota to Frank J. and Rose (Panek) Dietz. He graduated from New Prague High School. In his early years he worked at the mill in Montgomery and as a mechanic for Jimmy Rutt’s garage. He married Leota Busta on October 15, 1945. He spent his life as a farmer, who valued conservation of both the soil in his farming practices and wildlife.

Celeste T. Preble, 87, of Lonsdale, passed away on Friday, February 1, 2019 at the Villages of Lonsdale. Visitation will be Friday, February 8 from 10am to 11am at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Montgomery with Mass of Christian Burial following at 11am with Father Victor Valencia officiating. Interment will be held in Calvary Cemetery in Montgomery. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to Moments Hospice.

Terrance Francis David, Sr., 78, of Montgomery, passed away on Friday, Jan. 18, 2019, at his home. 
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, Jan. 29 from 10 a.m. to noon at the Schoenbauer Funeral Home in Montgomery with funeral services following at noon also at the funeral home. Interment will be held in the Bohemian National Cemetery in Montgomery in spring.
In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorials donated to a children’s charity of their preference.

Gladys D. Beinhorn, age 81, of New Prague, died peacefully, surrounded by her family on Tuesday January 15, 2019 at The Lutheran Home in Belle Plaine.  Gladys was born March 13, 1937 in New Prague to Erwin H.

Lucille Heyda, 90, of Shakopee, passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2019.
Lucille was born on June 11, 1928, in Montgomery, MN, the daughter of Rudolph and Christina (Holey) Shetka. Her husband was William Heyda, Sr.
The things Lucille enjoyed most were gardening and canning the fruits and vegetables that she nurtured through the summer months. She loved cooking and collecting recipes.

Rose Adeline (Dietz) Washa, 104, of Le Center, passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2019, at her home in Le Center. Visitation will be Saturday, Jan. 12 from 9 to 11 a.m. at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Montgomery with funeral service following at 11 a.m. also with Father Chris Shofner officiating. Interment will be held at a later date.
Rose was born on December 18, 1914, in Montgomery to August and Rose (Kriha) Dietz. She was a Montgomery High School graduate. Rose was united in marriage to Nathan Henry Washa on November, 12, 1934 in Montgomery.

Rita Marie Sticha, 82, of Faribault, formerly of Montgomery passed away on Friday, January 4, 2019 at Pleasant Manor in Faribault. Visitation will be Wednesday, January, 9 from 9 to 11 a.m. at the Schoenbauer Funeral Home in Montgomery with funeral service following at 11 also at the funeral home with Father Victor Valencia officiating. Interment will be held in Calvary Cemetery in Montgomery.

David Charles Baker
It is with great sadness that the family of David Baker of New Prague announces his sudden passing, on Saturday, December 29, 2018, at the age of 52 years.  David will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 17 years, Colleen, and his children, Joshua (Linh) and Jessica.  David will also be fondly remembered by his grandchildren, Isaac, Nevaeh, Gabriel, Bella, and Ariah, by his mother, Pat, and sisters, Leah (William), Ann (Joe), their daughters, Charlotte and Sara, and extended family and dear friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Charles Baker.

Delyla Sladek, 77, of Le Center passed away peacefully on Saturday, Dec. 22, 2018, at Mayo Clinic Health System Hospital in Mankato.
Visitation will be on Saturday, January 5 from 9 to 11a.m. at St. Canice Catholic Church in Kilkenny. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11 a.m. with Father Victor Valencia officiating. Interment will be in Bohemian National Cemetery.

Emily Mae Braun, 87, of Montgomery passed away on Wednesday, Dec. 19, 2018, at Mayo Clinic Health Systems Hospital in Mankato. Visitation will be on Saturday, Dec. 22 from 9 to 11 a.m. at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Montgomery. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11 a.m. with Father Victor Valencia officiating. Interment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery in Lexington.

Gladys Kaderlik, 85, of Montgomery passed away on Thursday, Dec. 13, 2018, in Montgomery at her home. Visitation will be on Sunday, Dec. 16 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Schoenbauer Funeral Home in Montgomery. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, Dec. 17 at 11 a.m. at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Montgomery with visitation one hour prior at the funeral home.
Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery in Montgomery.

Mary Ellen Miska, 62, of Le Center passed away on Tuesday, Dec. 11, 2018, in Belle Plaine at her daughter’s home surrounded by her family after a long and courageous battle with lung cancer. Visitation will be held on Friday Dec.14 from 4 to 8 p.m. with Rosary at 7 p.m. at Le Center Funeral Home and 1 hour prior at the St. Paul Lutheran Church. Funeral services will be held on Saturday Dec. 15 at 11 a.m. at the St Paul Lutheran Church in Le Center.  Interment will be at Woodlawn Cemetery in Le Center.


Robert Winfred Ruhland, 82, of Prior Lake, passed away on December 1, 2018. Services are pending.
