Genevieve Marie Holtz, 90, died peacefully during the evening hours of Friday, Nov. 20, 2020, at St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester, MN.
Genevieve was born September 4, 1930, in rural Montgomery, MN to the late James B and Christina Petricka (née Rosival).  She was their only daughter, joining her big brother Mahlon, and later was joined by little brother Donald.
Genevieve was a lifelong resident of Montgomery, growing up during the Great Depression on the family farm south of town. It would have a lifetime impression on her by which she lived.

Shirley Scheffert, 82, of Montgomery, passed away at her home on Sunday, Nov. 22, 2020 surrounded by her loving family.
Shirley was born on June 19, 1938, in New Prague to William and Helen (Kajer) Svobodny. She was a graduate of New Prague High School and St. Joseph’s Hospital in Mankato where she received her LPN nursing degree.
Shirley was united in marriage to Karl J. Scheffert on May 14, 1960, at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in New Prague. Together, they raised five children: Mark, Scott, Mary Kaye, Donna and Susan.

Wayne S. Mader, age 79, of Le Sueur, died Wednesday, November 18, 2020 at St.

Leslie John Emmers, 90, passed away on Tuesday, Nov. 17, 2020, at Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 25 from 9 to 10 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Le Center with Memorial Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. Interment will be held in Calvary Cemetery in Le Center. Military honors will be provided by the Le Center area Veterans Honor Guard.

Marcella A. Blaeser, 94, of Montgomery passed away Monday, Nov. 9 at St. Francis Hospital in Shakopee. Public services are postponed until a later date. Private interment will be at Ft. Snelling National Cemetery.
Marcella was born April 16, 1926, in Kimball, South Dakota to Joseph and Anna (McAvinney) Smith. She married Willard “Bill” Blaeser in January of 1952 and raised a family. She was known for her excellent tailoring. She loved horses, sewing, flowers, gardening and puzzles.

Kathleen “Kathy” Gessner, 79, of Waseca, died from cancer on Friday, Oct. 30, 2020, at the Mayo Clinic Health System in Waseca.
Born on January 30, 1941, in Richland Township, Rice County, Minnesota, Kathy was the daughter of Joseph and Marion (Slocum) Keilen. She grew up on a farm with her parents and her older brother, Jim, and graduated from Montgomery-Lonsdale High School in 1958. 

Leonard E. Beatty, Jr passed away at his home in Montgomery, MN on October 26, 2020, at the age of 82. He was born in St. Paul, MN on December 1, 1937, to Leonard Sr. & Bessie (Fitch) Beatty. 
Leonard was a graduate of St. Rose of Lima Catholic School in Roseville, MN and of Cretin Derham Hall High School in St. Paul, MN
In February 1957, he married Kathryn Schwarzbauer at Sacred Heart Church in Wahkon, MN, and together they had six children. 

Eunice Bernice Washa, 81, of Fort Worth, Texas passed away on Monday, October 26, 2020. She was born in Lydia, Minnesota on November 19, 1938 to Emil Oldenburg and Lillian (Ebel) Oldenburg.

Mildred Rose “Mick” Schallert, 93, of Montgomery, Minnesota and most recently of Gifford, Illinois passed away on Saturday, October 17, 2020. She was born on March 13, 1927 in Edgar, Wisconsin to the late Edward John and Mary Katherine (Bode) Schumacher.

Loretta Mae Wiskocil, age 88, of Montgomery, passed away on Sunday, Oct 25, 2020, at Ridgeview Medical Center in Le Sueur.
Visitation will be on Saturday, October 31 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Montgomery. Mass of Christian Burial following at 11 a.m. with Fr. Tom Niehaus officiating. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery in Montgomery.
Loretta was born on November 6, 1931, in rural Kilkenny to Herbert and Emma (Polak) Grundhoffer. She attended Country School and was a graduate of Montgomery High School.

Deborah Ann Abrams (Moravec), age 55, of Lonsdale, MN passed away peacefully on October 22, 2020.
She was a loving wife, daughter, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. Her smile brought light and joy to a room. Daughter of Roman and Donna Moravec (Pexa).
She was born in New Prague on May 1, 1965. On May 24, 1986, she married Michael Abrams in Lonsdale, MN. During her life, she enjoyed spending time with family, painting, cooking, dancing, and listening to country music.

Mayme Lucille (Dejcmar) Jindra, 105 years 10 months and 6 days, passed away peacefully at her home in Montgomery on Monday, October 19, 2020.
Mayme was born on December 13, 1914, in Montgomery to Edward and Mary (Uhlir) Dejcmar. She graduated from Sherman High School in Montgomery in 1932.
Mayme was united in marriage to the love of her life, John James Jindra, on October 12, 1940, at St. John Lutheran Church in Montgomery. They lived on a farm off Highway 21 in Le Sueur County.

Gilbert Arnold Kline, age 92, of Montgomery, died on Friday, October 9, 2020 at Central Health Care in Le Center. Visitation will be held Wednesday, October 21 from 9:00 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Schoenbauer Funeral Home in Montgomery.
Mass of Christian Burial will follow at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Montgomery at 11 a.m. with Father Tom Niehaus officiating. Interment will be in Bohemian National Cemetery in Montgomery. Military Honors will be provided by the Montgomery area Color Guard.

Helen Ann (Zelenka) Borg, of Montgomery passed away on October 1, at the age of 77, the victim of COVID-19.
Helen was born November 4, 1942, the daughter of Jim and Emma Zelenka.
She graduated from Montgomery High School in 1960 and graduated from nurses training through Swedish Hospital in 1962. Her nursing career included work at Abbott Hospital, Fairview Hospital, a hospital in San Diego, and more than 12 years at Group Health in Bloomington.

Edward J. Gaughan, age 86, of Montgomery, MN passed away Sunday, September 27, 2020, at Mill City Senior Living in Faribault.
Edward James was born on April 26, 1934, in St. Paul, MN to Harold and Mary (Hodnett) Gaughan. He graduated from Monroe High School in St. Paul. Edward served in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Germany.

Julia M. Odenthal, age 76, of Le Center, died suddenly, in her daughter’s arms on Wednesday, September 23, 2020.  Julia was born on November 29, 1943 in Elko, Minnesota to Frank and Julia (Horejsi) Peterka.  Julia married the love of her life, Cornelius T. Odenthal on August 8, 1964 at St.
