Bruce David Heyda, 55, of Montgomery, died on Saturday, Oct. 30, 2021 at his home. Visitation will be held on Friday, Nov. 5, from 4 to 7 p.m., at the Schoenbauer Funeral Home in Montgomery. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, Nov. 6, at 11 a.m. with Father Tom Niehaus officiating, with visitation one hour prior at Most Holy Redeemer Church.
Interment will be held at a later date in Calvary Cemetery in Montgomery.
Military honors will be provided by the Montgomery Area Veterans Honor Guard.
Linda J. Walton of Montgomery was called home on October 21 at the age of 81. There will be a Celebration of Life for Linda on Saturday, October 30th from 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., with a prayer and song service at 1:00 p.m., in the Most Holy Redeemer Catholic Church basement in Montgomery.
Katie Trnka, 91, of Montgomery, passed away Monday, Oct. 18, 2021, at Merrywood Senior Homecare in Faribault. Visitation will be held on Friday, Oct. 22 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Most Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Montgomery with Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 1 p.m. with Father George Grafsky officiating. Interment will be held in Calvary Cemetery in Montgomery.
Katie was born on January 30, 1930, in Cordova to John and Martha (Cemensky) Trzecinski. She attended St. Mary’s Parochial School in Le Center.
Kenneth(Ken) J. Mares, age 61 of Lakeville, passed away on Oct. 10, 2021. Ken was preceded in death by his loving parents Myles & Dorothy. He is survived by his sisters Patty Simberg, Rita (Jack) Molumby and his brother Larry.
Per Ken’s wishes he will be cremated and interred with our parents. Our brother was an uncomplicated man with a heart of gold. He was loved and we will miss him. Per his wishes there will be no memorial observance. We want to thank those who supported us on this journey. It is appreciated.
Janet Marie Pan, 75, of Montgomery, passed away Saturday, Oct. 9, 2021, at Mayo Clinic Health System, New Prague. Visitation will be held on Thursday, Oct. 14 from 10 to 11:30 a.m. at Most Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Montgomery with Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 11:30 a.m. with Father Tom Niehaus officiating. Interment will be held in St. John Catholic Cemetery in Montgomery.
Perry Caspers was born September 2, 1954 to Donald W. and Druzella (Rekkedahl) Caspers in Olivia, MN. He died from complications of thrombocytopenia and pancreatic cancer on Saturday, October 9, 2021 at the Crosby Hospital in Crosby, MN.
He was baptized into the Lutheran Faith at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Bird Island, MN on October 17, 1954. Sponsors were Harvey and Irene Rekkedahl. He attended Bird Island Public School and graduated from Bird Island High School in 1973. He went on to graduate from South Dakota State University in 1978 with a degree in Agronomy.
Ann Marie Segna, age 92, of Montgomery, passed away on Tuesday, October 5, 2021, at her Praha Village home in New Prague. Visitation will be held on Monday, October 11 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. with Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. all at Most Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Montgomery with Father George Grafsky officiating. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery in Montgomery.
George Stadstad, age 104 passed away September 30, 2021 at Good Samaritan Society, Larimore, ND. George was preceded in death by spouses Thelma (Sandaker), Jacqueline (Galaugher) and Luane (Hoverson), parents Obert and Bertha Stadstad of Manvel, ND and brother Robert Stadstad of Manvel, ND. He is survived by his three sons, Terry (Muriel) of Grand Forks, David (Gwen) of Montgomery, MN and Dale (Linda) of Prior Lake MN.
Mark P. Malone, age 61, of Montgomery, died on Tuesday, September 28, 2021, at Martin Luther Care Center in Bloomington.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Most Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, Montgomery on Friday, October 1, 2021, at 12 noon. Interment will be at Calvary Cemetery, Montgomery.
Visitation will be at church for two hours prior to the service on Friday.
On Saturday, September 25th, after an 8-day battle with COVID, David Jacob Korbel (the cornerstone of our Korbel Family) gently and peacefully took his final breath here on earth as God called him to heaven to do even greater things.
Dave was born on September 8, 1947, in New Prague. He was raised on a farm in Le Sueur County, attending grade school at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Montgomery and graduating from Montgomery High School in 1965.
Dale Gaul, 64, of Montgomery, died on Saturday, September 11 at his home, after his long and courageous fight against cancer. Mass of Christian Burial was held on Thursday, September 16 at 10:30 am at Most Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Montgomery with Fr. Tom Niehaus, officiating. Military honors were provided by the Montgomery area Honor Guard. Interment was held in Calvary Cemetery in Montgomery.
Dale was born on June 17, 1957, in Slayton, MN to Anton and Ruth (Schwartz). He was a graduate of Holy Redeemer Catholic School and attended Montgomery High School.
Lowell E. Tangen, age 68, of New Prague, died peacefully with his family at his side at his home on Wednesday, September 22, 2021. Lowell was born on March 7, 1953 in Detroit Lakes, MN to Selmer E. and Dorothy M. (Erickson) Tangen. He grew up on the family farm near Hawley, MN, graduating from Hawley High School. He graduated from the agricultural college of Crookston Junior College in 1973 and then went on to attain his Bachelor of Science Degree in Animal Science, graduating with honors from the University of Minnesota in 1974. Lowell married the love of his life, Marsha E.
Alvin “Al” G. Nasinec, age 86, of Montgomery, MN, died Tuesday, September 21, 2021 at Traditions in Montgomery. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, September 25, 2021 at 10:30 AM at Most Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Montgomery, MN, with Father Greg Havel officiating. Visitation will be Friday, Sept. 24, 2021 from 4-7 pm at Most Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Montgomery, MN. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday.
Arnold “Arnie” Edel, 59, of Owatonna, passed away Wednesday, August 18, 2021, at Abbott Northwestern Hospital, Minneapolis.
David Allen Halvorson, age 74, of New Prague, MN, died on Wednesday August 11, 2021 in his home surrounded by his family after 14-month battle with leukemia. David was born on November 14, 1946 in Morristown, MN, to Bernard and Adeline [Schmidtke] Halvorson. He married Julie Novotny on June 22, 1968 in New Prague, MN, and was married for 46 years.
