Roman Leonard Jindra, age 76, of Montgomery, passed away on July 14, 2024, at his home.
Roman was born on November 2, 1947, to Leonard and Margie (Hruby) Jindra. He was a graduate of Montgomery-Lonsdale High School. Roman was united in marriage to Betty Walters on June 23, 1973, at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Montgomery. Roman worked as a very faithful custodian for St. John Church in Montgomery.

Betty Jean Jindra, age 72, of Montgomery, passed away on July 14, 2024, at her home.
Betty was born on November 25, 1951, to Harold and Katie (Burma) Walters. She was a graduate of Montgomery-Lonsdale High School. Betty was united in marriage to Roman Jindra on June 23, 1973, at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Montgomery. Betty worked at Walmart in Faribault.
Betty loved visiting with everyone, going to garage sales, being generous to her friends and family, being one to help you if you had a need, and bragging about her daughter and grandkids.

Larry V. Braun, age 69, of Roseville,  passed away unexpectedly at his home on January 19, 2024.  He was born and educated in Montgomery, Minnesota, and was an outstanding athlete at MHS.  The rest of his life was spent at various locations with the last being in Roseville, MN.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Vernon and Irma (Harmeyer) Braun; beloved dog, Charlie.

Barbara Jean Gieseke, age 87, passed away peacefully surrounded by family and into the loving arms of Jesus, on July 25, 2024. Barbara was a devoted wife, mother, nurse, caregiver, and follower of the Lord.

William Robert Hanek, age 86, of Montgomery, died on Thursday, July 25, 2024, at The Emeralds at Faribault. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 31, from 4 p.m. - 7 p.m. at the Schoenbauer Funeral Home in Montgomery. Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, August 1, at 11 a.m. with visitation one hour prior at Most Holy Redeemer Catholic Church with Father George Grafsky officiating. Interment will be held Calvary Cemetery in Montgomery. Military honors will be provided by the Montgomery area Veterans Honor Guard.

Marlys Annette Benolken, age 83, of New Prague, formerly of Lonsdale, died peacefully with her family at her side on Monday, July 22, 2024, at her home at Praha Village.  Marlys was born on September 22, 1940, in Fargo, North Dakota, to James A. and Catherine M. (Kreyer) Stage.  She grew up in Omaha, Nebraska, attending Holy Name Catholic School from kindergarten through graduation from high school.  Once Marlys had raised her five children, Marlys entered the work force, serving as an administrative assistant for Rice County Corrections for 15 years.

Silvana Ciscato Blum, age 77, of Montgomery, passed away on Thursday, July 18, 2024, at her home. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 24, from 4 p.m. - 7 p.m. at the Schoenbauer Funeral Home in Montgomery. Visitation will continue on Thursday, July 25, from 10 a.m. - 11 a.m. with Funeral Service at 11 a.m. all held at St. John Lutheran Church with Pastor Jason Pollington officiating. Interment will be held in the St. John Lutheran Cemetery in Montgomery.

Richard James DeCoux, age 82, of Montgomery, passed away on Wednesday, July 10, 2024, at Traditions of Montgomery. Visitation will be held on Friday, August 2 from 10-11 a.m. with a Funeral service at 11 a.m. all held at Schoenbauer Funeral Home in Montgomery.

Dorothy Helen Trinka, age 93, of Montgomery, passed away on Saturday, July 13, 2024, at the Lutheran Home in Belle Plaine. Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 3, from 10 a.m. - noon with funeral service at noon. All held at the Schoenbauer Funeral Home in Montgomery. Interment will be held at a later date.

Gerald "Jerry" Joseph Coughlin, 91, of Opelika, Alabama, passed away Saturday July 6, 2024, at his home following a long battle with Parkinson’s disease.  He was born November 14, 1932, in Montgomery, Minnesota.
He was preceded in death by his parents James Michael Coughlin, Sr. and Agnes Catherine Weiers Coughlin; his son Gregory Alan Coughlin and brother Donald (Donnie) Coughlin.

Donald "Don" Joseph Barnett, age 87, of Kilkenny, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 8, 2024, at his home. Visitation will be held on Friday, July 12, from 4-7 p.m. at Schoenbauer Funeral Home in Montgomery. Visitation will continue Saturday, July 13, from 10-11 a.m. at St. Canice Catholic Church in Kilkenny with Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. with Father Timothy Sandquist and Father George Grafsky officiating. Interment will be held at St. Michael’s Cemetery in rural Montgomery. Military honors will be provided by the Montgomery area Veterans Honor Guard.

Marion J. Tuma, age 93, died on Tuesday, July 2, 2024 at the Villages of Lonsdale.  Marion Julia (Koldin) Tuma was born April 7, 1931, on the family farm in Rice County, Minnesota to Joseph J. and Mary Ann (Pesta) Koldin.  She was baptized, and received her first Communion and Confirmation at Immaculate Conception Church in Lonsdale.  She attended District 46 Country School, and Parochial School in Lonsdale.  On May 17, 1949, she married Francis A.

Kenneth “Ken/Kenny” Kimmet, age 74, of Le Center, died on Tuesday, June 25, 2024, at the Estates of Roseville in Roseville. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 2 from 4 p.m. - 7 p.m. at the Schoenbauer Funeral Home in Montgomery. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, July 3 at 11 a.m. at St. Scholastica Catholic Church in Heidelberg with visitation one hour prior at the Church. Interment will be held in St. Scholastica Catholic Church in Heidelberg. Military honors will be provided by the Montgomery Area Veteran Honor Guard.

Harriett Helen Soukup, age 96, of Montgomery, passed away peacefully on June 24, 2024, at Mala Strana Care Facility in New Prague. Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 27 from 9 a.m. - 11 a.m. with prayer service at 11 a.m. all held at the Schoenbauer Funeral Home in Montgomery. Interment will be held in Bohemian National Cemetery in Montgomery.

Richard “Rich” George Vargo, age 77, of Montgomery, died on Tuesday, June 11, 2024, at St. Francis Regional Medical Center in Shakopee.  Visitation was held on Tuesday, June 18, 2024, from 9:00 to 11:00 with funeral at 11:00 with Pastor Jason Pollington officiating, all at St. John Lutheran Church in Montgomery. Interment was in at St. John Lutheran Cemetery in Montgomery.

Gladys “Dee” Soulek, age 97, of Eagan, died peacefully, as the result of a fall, with her family at her side, on Saturday, June 15, 2024, at M Health Fairview Southdale Hospital.  Dee was born on February 11, 1927, in Montgomery, Minnesota, to George and Albina (Jakes) Trcka.  She graduated from Montgomery High School and married Clarence E.
