A Memorial service will be held at a later date to be announced. Private family burial will be in Sakatah Cemetery, Waterville. Memorials may be given to the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd, 2101 Lor Ray Drive, North Mankato, MN. Arrangements are with Mankato Mortuary.
Delores Louise Gregor, age 91 of Waterville, died on Friday, April 24, 2020 at Foxdale in Waseca.
In response to Executive Order 20-41 issued today by Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz,the Minnesota State High School League, under direction of the League’s Board of Directors, has declared, effective immediately, all activities and athletics that occur during the spring season have been cancelled for the 2019-2020 school year. The decision of the League is aligned with recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the Minnesota Department of Health and is in support of practices that focus on community health and safety.
Governor Tim Walz, representatives of the state’s health care delivery systems, the Mayo Clinic, and the University of Minnesota (U of M) today announced a breakthrough for rapid, widespread testing of COVID-19 in Minnesota. Standing together at the State’s Emergency Operations Center, they launched a statewide testing strategy to test all symptomatic people, isolate confirmed cases, and expand public health surveillance tools.
Geraldine “Gerri” Audrey Schlueter, 73, of Waterville, MN, passed away unexpectedly on April 15, 2020.
Gerri was born at Naeve Hospital in Albert Lea, MN on April 9, 1947. She graduated from Albert Lea High School in 1965. She was married to William “Bill” Schlueter on April 22, 1967. Together they had three children.
Gerri worked as a senior production technician at Itron in Waseca, MN for several years and retired in 1998.
James “Jim” Velishek, age 49 of Waterville died on April 14, 2020 at his home.

Walleye angling on Mille Lacs Lake will be catch-and-release only for this year’s open water season, with the exception of the month of July, when walleye fishing will be closed.
Additionally, anglers will not be allowed to use live bait for any species in July, except sucker minnows greater than 8 inches in length for targeting northern pike and muskellunge.
The new walleye rule is among several regulations changes this year. Bass and northern pike also have new regulations.
