The Elko New Market City Council approved a sewer improvement quote for three properties as part of the Woodcrest Sewer 2019 Extension Project. The quote was awarded to Krueger Excavating, Inc. and is for $118,698.
City Engineer Rich Revering of the firm Bolton & Menk, Inc., explained that originally one property owner in the Woodcrest neighborhood had requested a change over from a septic system to the city’s sewer system. Revering said they sent out requests for bids from GM Contracting, Inc., and Krueger Excavating, Inc. Both came in over the estimate of $41,500 that was based on a concept design and similar work in 2017. Revering said in discussing the bids with the two businesses, city staff found that 2019 has been a busy year with projects behind schedule due to the wet weather.
