Downtown Sound at 104 Main St. E was able to reopen on Tuesday, May 18, after being closed for a nearly a month and a half. New Prague City Staff working with structural engineer Mike Hemstad of the city’s engineering firm Short Elliott Henrickson (SEH), Inc. determined the building was safe to reopen.
According to City Planning Director Ken Ondich on Monday, May 17, city staff, including himself, Building Official Chad Lunder, Public Works Director Matt Rynda, and City Engineer Chris Cavett, met with Hemstad and took a first hand look at the building that houses Downtown Sound and the former Consignment Lodge at 102 Main St. E for the benefit of having Hemstad review future plans to fix the building.
