According to the Belle Plaine Police Department on Wednesday, April 13, Belle Plaine Police Officers were called to the 100 block of West Main Street for a male threatening to commit suicide. Upon arrival of police, the male subject ran towards the area of the Belle Plaine schools creating a procedural lockdown for the school district. The Minnesota State Patrol, Scott County Sheriff’s Office along with officers from the Belle Plaine Police Department patrolled the exterior of all schools while searching for the subject. A short time later the male was located and taken into custody without incident.
Immediately following the arrest of the subject, the school lockdown was cancelled.
