2021 Graduation Parade to be held Sunday

The parents of New Prague High School’s graduating class of 2021 are coming together to honor the senior class with a Graduation Parade at 3 p.m. on Sunday, May 23. Like last year’s parade, the parents are working with the New Prague Area School District and the City of New Prague to organize a parade that will take a route through the community.
Jacque Bittner, who is helping organize the event, said they would like the community to be part of the parade by coming out to watch as the graduates drive by. “It’s also a great way to start off graduation week on the right foot,” she said.
Bittner said they want the graduating class to have a memorable end to the school year, which had its challenges due to the COVID-19 pandemic. A Graduation Parade was also held in 2020 due to the pandemic. “Everybody loved it last year,” said Bittner. “We wanted to make it special for this year’s graduates also.” She added they hope to make the Graduation Parade an annual tradition.
