Genevieve Marie Holtz, 90 - Memorial Mass

Genevieve Marie Holtz, 90, died peacefully during the evening hours of Friday, Nov. 20, 2020, at St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester, MN. Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 29, from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Most Holy Redeemer Church with Memorial Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 11 a.m. with Father Tom Niehaus, officiating.
Burial will be held in the Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis.

Kenneth John Weber, 81

Kenneth John Weber, 81, of Kilkenny, passed away on Wednesday, March 10, 2021, at Mala Strana Health Care in New Prague.
Visitation will be on Saturday, April 24 from 9 to 11a.m. at St. Canice Catholic Church in Kilkenny. Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11am with Father Tom Niehaus officiating.
Interment will be in the Calvary Cemetery in Kilkenny. Military honors will be provided by the Kilkenny and Montgomery Area Honor Guards.

Sister Mary Joanne Lusk, 87

Sister Mary Joanne Lusk was born on August 15, 1933, to Joseph and Ann (Bilek) in New Prague, Minnesota, the eldest daughter in a family of two children.
Her younger brother, John, died shortly after birth. She was baptized and confirmed at Holy Redeemer Parish in Montgomery, MN.

James Myles Filipek, 80

James Myles Filipek passed away on March 16, 2021, at the age of 80, in his home.  His battle with cancer in recent years showed his courage in facing life challenges with a smile. Despite the pain, Jim came out a hero and stayed strong until the end.

Evelyn Trcka,102

Evelyn Trcka, age 102 of Shieldsville passed away peacefully on Thursday March 4, 2021 at Pleasant Manor in Faribault. Visitation will be held Monday, March 22, 2021 from 3 – 7 pm at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Shieldsville and will continue Tuesday morning 9:30 – 11 am. Mass of Christian burial will be held Tuesday, March 23, 2021 at 11 am with Fr. Thomas Niehaus officiating. Interment will be held in St. Patrick’s Cemetery in Shieldsville.

Fred Lawrence Washa, 86

Fred Lawrence Washa, age 86, of Fort Worth, Texas passed away on Sunday, February 28, 2021. He was born on January 26, 1935 to Fred H. Washa and Bessie C. (Rynda) Washa. Fred graduated from Montgomery High School. After high school, Fred served in the United States Air Force and was awarded the National Defense Service Medal.

Beverly Theresa Rutt, 81

Beverly Theresa Rutt passed away at Mayo Hospital in Arizona on February 27, 22021.
She was born in New Prague, MN to Frank and Mary Rutt on April 5, 1939.  Beverly graduated from Montgomery, MN High School in 1957, attended the School of Business in Minneapolis, MN and moved to Hawaii for three years. Beverly has resided in Scottsdale, AZ since 1968 working for the US Airforce and US Post Office in Arizona until retirement.

Jerome “Jerry” Malone, 84

Jerome “Jerry” Malone, 84, of Montgomery and Surprise, AZ, died February 26, 2021, peacefully at his home. Funeral services will be held at a later date.
 
Jerome was born on February 3, 1937, in Wadena, MN to Robert and Elizabeth (Spahn) Malone. He graduated from Wadena high school and then went on to earn his bachelor degree at the University of Minnesota.
Jerome worked in sales management at The Maytag Co. in Newton, Iowa for 38 years, where he finished his career as Vice President of Sales.

Clarence J. Ginter, 89

Clarence J. Ginter, age 89, of New Prague, died suddenly on February 14, 2021, at St. Francis Regional Medical Center in Shakopee.  Clarence was born on January 30, 1932 in Lexington Township, Le Sueur County, MN to Joseph and Anna (Filipek) Ginter.  He attended school in Montgomery and later married Donna M.

Larry Marvin Ceplecha, 59

Larry Marvin Ceplecha, 59, of New Prague, died February 9, 2021, at his home. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 16 from 3 to 7 p.m. at Schoenbauer Funeral Home in Montgomery with a prayer service at 7 p.m. with Father George Grafsky officiating. Interment will be at a later date this spring in Calvary Cemetery in Montgomery.
Larry was born on November 8, 1961, in Faribault to Marvin Edward and Barbara (Malecha) Ceplecha. He attended Montgomery High School and worked as a Processing Technician for Faribault Foods.
