Sandra Rae Korba, age 69, of New Prague, formerly of Montgomery, died suddenly but peacefully in her sleep at home on Wednesday, August 11, 2021.  Sandra was born on February 20, 1952 in Jackson, Minnesota to Raymond and Laila (Grantz) Schroeder.  She grew up in Jackson, attending elementary school there and graduated from Shakopee High School after the family’s move.  She attended the University of Minnesota for a short time before marrying Robert Korba on June 24, 1978 in Shakopee.  Sandra worked at many careers during her life: as a waitr

Patricia “Pat” Prchal, age 90, of Norwood Young America, passed away Saturday August 7, 2021 at The Haven in Norwood Young America.

Gary Michael “Hammer” Flicek, 69

Gary Michael “Hammer” Flicek, 69, of Montgomery passed away peacefully at his home after an eleven-year battle against cancer, surrounded by family and friends on August 4, 2021.
Funeral services and visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 18th, 2021, at Most Holy Redeemer Church in Montgomery, MN. Visitation will be held from 12:30p.m.-3:30p.m with mass to follow. Burial will be at a later date. Luncheon will be held at the American Legion in Montgomery. Officiating will be Father Thomas Neihaus.

Marvin Jakes Sr., 85

Marvin Jakes Sr., 85, of Montgomery, passed away on Sunday, July 25, 2021, at the Family Residence in Northfield. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, Aug. 4 from 3 to 4 p.m. with funeral service following at 4 p.m., all held at St. John Lutheran Church in Montgomery. Interment will be at Bohemian National Cemetery at a later date.

Bryan Charles Tupy, 31

Bryan Charles Tupy, age 31, of Jordan, died suddenly at his home on Monday, July 26, 2021.  Bryan was born on January 25, 1990 to Chuck and Shelly (Walerius) Tupy.  He attended St. Wenceslaus School, graduated from New Prague High School, attained a B.S. in Fish and Wildlife Biology from the University of North Dakota, and then got his associate degree in Law Enforcement from Alexandria Technical and Community College.  He married the love of his life, Annalee Koonst at St.

Joe “Joseph” R. Pelant, 75

Joe “Joseph” R. Pelant, 75, of Le Center, passed away at St. Francis Medical Center in Shakopee on Friday, July 16, 2021. Celebration of Life will be held August 1 at Lakefront Bar and Grill in Le Center from 1 to 4 p.m.
Joe was born on March 19, 1946, in New Prague to Elsie (Kukacka) and Joseph F. Pelant. He graduated from Montgomery-Lonsdale High School and Willmar Jr. College in Wilmar, MN.

Richard “Dick” Gregor, 82

Richard “Dick” Francis Gregor, 82, of Montgomery, passed away on Friday, July 23, 2021, at Central Health Care in Le Center. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 29, at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Montgomery at noon with visitation starting at 9:30 a.m.
Richard was born on April 30, 1939, in Faribault to Mary (Kotek) and Ambrose Gregor. He was united in marriage to Marge Grundhoffer on December 26, 1964, at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church.

Mary Margaret Walker, age 80, of New Prague, died unexpectedly with her husband at her side of complications from pancreatitis at Fairview Southdale Hospital on December 29, 2020. Mary was born on November 13, 1940 in Minneapolis to Andrew and Lylis (Blanchard) Jones. 

Rodney Joseph Soukup, 82

Rodney Joseph Soukup, 82, passed away at home on June 23, after a 10-month-long battle with pancreatic cancer. Born in Faribault, Minnesota, on March 9, 1939, Rod grew up in Montgomery, Minnesota, and received his B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. in electrical engineering from the University of Minnesota.

Ralph G. Hendrickson, 82

Ralph G. Hendrickson, age 82 of Kilkenny, MN, died at his home on Thursday morning, July 1, 2021.  Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 17 from 9am to 11am at St. John Lutheran Church in Montgomery. Memorial services will be at 11am all at St. John Lutheran Church in Montgomery.  Interment will be held at St. John Lutheran Cemetery in Montgomery. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to St. John Church Steeple repair or Le Sueur County Relay for Life (American Cancer Society).
