Marian L. Wagner went to be with her Lord and Savior on June 1, 2020, at the age of 92 years, 7 months, and 27 days. She had been a resident at Pleasant Manor Nursing Home for the past few months.
Funeral services will be held at North Morristown Fourth of July Grounds on Saturday, June 6, 2020, at 2 p.m. with the Reverend Juan Palm, officiating. Interment will be at Concordia Cemetery, North Morristown.
A gathering will be held at the Grounds for one hour prior to the service. Arrangements are being completed by the Boldt Funeral Home, Faribault.

Jack Webster, 86, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 1, 2020, at the Homestead Hospice House in Owatonna, MN, following a well-fought battle with cancer.
Webster was born in rural Pottawatomie County, Kansas on March 11, 1934 near the small town of Cleburne, to James and Bessie (Harter) Webster. He attended the one-room Belgrade Rural Grade School for six years, then graduated from Cleburne Elementary School in 1948. Webster attended, and graduated from, Cleburne Rural High School in 1952.

The death of George Floyd, an unarmed black man, in the custody of a Minneapolis police officer who knelt on Floyd’s neck for nearly nine minutes, has sparked outrage, protests, riots, violence, looting, and arson in Minneapolis and across the United States.

After more than two months of its government buildings being closed to the public, Le Sueur County is reopening most of its offices and specific services on Monday, June 1, 2020 at 8 a.m. with the exception of Court Administration, which will be open to the public on June 8, 2020.
According to a press release Friday, the county is taking a cautious, phased approach to reopening and implementing new processes and procedures to protect the health and safety of employees and the community.

This includes The New Prague Times, Montgomery Messenger and LifeEnterprise offices.

Margaret "Vicky" Rew, age 76 of Waterville died on Wednesday, May 27, 2020 at her home.

Minnesota Army National Guardsmen Andrew Harmon and Tyler Schroer, father and son, were honored with a deployment parade Thursday night. The men will leave June 1 for a year-long deployment to Africa.

As one city celebration after another has been cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the 86th annual Kolacky Days will continue as mostly a virtual event.
In a press release sent to members of the Montgomery Area Community Club, board member Tom Washa said the board decided to hold the event in some fashion that keeps everyone safe and adheres to the Minnesota Department of Health and CDC guidelines.

Also in accordance with a proclamation issued by the President, Governor Tim Walz today directed all flags at state and federal buildings in Minnesota to be flown at half-staff, effective immediately, until sunset on Sunday, May 24, 2020 to remember, mourn, and honor lives lost due to COVID-19.
 Individuals, businesses, and other organizations also are encouraged to join in lowering their flags to honor Minnesotans who have lost their lives to COVID-19 and their families.

The Great Minnesota Get-Together will not be held in 2020. This was announced today following a meeting of the board of managers of the Minnesota State Agricultural Society, which governs the Minnesota State Fair. The event was scheduled for Aug. 27 through Labor Day, Sept. 7. 

Della Mae Sanders, age 87, of Mankato, formerly of Elysian died peacefully on Thursday, May 21, 2020 at Pathstone Living in Mankato.
Della was born on December 22, 1932 in Mankato to Lloyd and Ruth (Johnson) Foster. She began her education at Perry Foster School District 133 in Madison Lake and later graduated from Mankato High School. On September 19, 1959, Della was united in marriage to Claude Sanders at Eagle Lake United Methodist Church. Together they had four children. Although they were later divorced, they maintained a lasting friendship.

Minnesotans will once again be able to access the majority of driver and vehicle services starting May 19, but office visits will look different with changes made to protect the health and safety of customers and staff in light of the COVID-19 pandemic. 

Bonnie Marie Smith, age 54, of Kilkenny, died on May 9, 2020 at her home.
Born on June 1, 1965, in Mankato to Windelin and Sharon (Smith) Hill. Bonnie grew up in Elysian and attended Waterville-Elysian Public School, graduating with the class of 1984. Bonnie married Sam Smith and together they had one daughter. They were later divorced. Bonnie worked as a bartender at Fishers Corner Bar for many years. She loved her dog Mickey. Bonnie enjoyed fishing, playing games on her phone, bonfires, crocheting, and especially talking about her grandson. She will be dearly missed.

Governor Tim Walz has directed all flags at state and federal buildings in Minnesota to be flown at half-staff from sunrise to sunset on Friday, May 15, 2020, in honor of peace officers who have been killed or injured in the line of duty.
 “On May 15 we honor the Peace Officers who gave their lives to protect ours, and thank the 11,000 Law Enforcement Officers who serve our state for their dedication to protecting Minnesota communities,” said Governor Walz.
