Gladys Cecelia Douda, age 93, of Lonsdale, died October 26, 2023, at Northfield Hospital, Northfield, Minnesota.
Funeral services will be held at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Lonsdale on Tuesday, November 7, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. Father VanDenBroeke will officiate. Interment will be held at Calvary Hill Cemetery, Lonsdale, Minnesota. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Gladys was born in Scott County on December 14, 1929, to Frank and Albina Blaha. On October 23, 1948, she married James E. Douda at Holy Trinity Church in Veseli, Minnesota. He preceded her in death on April 28, 2010. She enjoyed her grandchildren, gardening and playing cards.
She is survived by her brother Chuck (and Alice) Blaha of New Prague; children, James F. (Candy) of Dundas and Gladys (Cisco) Perry of Faribault; grandchildren, Scott Douda (and Andrea), Heather (and Shannon) Lique, Robin Douda, and James (and Jessica) Perry. She has seven great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren; nephews and nieces.
Gladys was a member of the Lonsdale American Legion Auxiliary, ICCW-IC Church Women and Senior Citizens.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James; her parents, her sister Helen Cervenka and husband Myles.
A light lunch will be held at the Lonsdale American Legion, Lonsdale, following the service.
