The Scott County Sheriff’s Office has been notified that the 23-year-old victim of a stabbing that occurred in Sand Creek Township on December 21, 2020 has died of his injuries.
The victim, Casey Jeb Trutnau of Jordan, died early this morning at Hennepin County Medical Center after being airlifted there yesterday afternoon.
A 23-year-old male was arrested and booked in the Scott County Jail after the stabbing on the 4400 block of Cedar Valley Lane that occurred at approximately 3:03 p.m. yesterday.
This matter is under investigation and is being reviewed for potential criminal charges by the Scott County Attorney’s Office.

On December 21, 2020, at 3:03 p.m., Scott County Sheriff’s Office 911 Dispatch received a report that an individual had been stabbed with a knife on the 44xx block of Cedar Valley Lane in Sand Creek Township.
Officers from the Jordan Police Department were the first on-scene and immediately took a 23-year-old Jordan man into custody. Sheriff’s Office deputies located a 23-year-old victim nearby with life-threatening injuries and immediately began providing medical aid with the assistance of Jordan Fire Department and Allina emergency medical personnel. The victim was transported by Life Link air ambulance to Hennepin County Medical Center.
The suspect was arrested on suspicion of First-Degree Assault and booked in the Scott County Jail.
“Our investigators are working hard to obtain answers regarding the circumstances surrounding this incident,” said Sheriff Luke Hennen. “I anticipate that people will have questions about this incident and many of these questions will likely addressed in the County Attorney’s charging documents, if and when they are filed.”
This is an ongoing investigation by the Scott County Sheriff’s Office and no further information will be released at this time.
