St. Wenceslaus School exceeds goal with $65,000

The annual St. Wenceslaus Catholic School Marathon fundraising event was a smashing success on Saturday, Oct. 1. The school’s goal was to raise $55,000, and the end result was a whopping $65,000. The school uses these funds to fulfill its budget expenses throughout the academic year.

Principal Kim Doyle said, “Our goal used to be $45,000, and just recently it was raised to $55,000, so I was a little bit nervous about that, but the families brought $45,000, Ron McBroom brought the next $10,000, and then we have another $10,000 from contributors.” This year marks Principal Doyle’s 15th year with the school.

Ron McBroom, a longtime sponsor of St. Wenceslaus Catholic School, brought 118 sponsors and pledges to this year's event, more than he has ever brought before. McBroom walked the route with the children, showing his support for the school, as all his children and grandchildren attended St. Wenceslaus. He has brought...
