James Thomas Halloran, 83

James Thomas Halloran, age 83 of St. Thomas, passed away on September 18, 2018 at his home surrounded by his family.  Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30a.m. on Monday, September 24 at St. Thomas Catholic Church in St. Thomas.  Fr. Roger Hessian will officiate.  Visitation will be on Sunday from 3-7p.m. at the Kolden Funeral Home in Belle Plaine and continue at the funeral home on Monday morning from 9-10a.m.  Interment will be in St. Thomas Catholic Cemetery.  Lunch will follow the burial at Our Lady of the Prairie Catholic Church in Belle Plaine.

James was born in Belle Plaine on August 27, 1935 to John P. and Grace (Schoell) Halloran.  He attended country schools in St. Thomas and graduated from New Prague High School in 1953.  On August 7, 1965 he married Mary Jean Glisczinski at St. Joseph’s in Lexington.  A lifelong farmer, he spent time in the Army Reserves, worked at O’Connell Oil and many years at Keup Motors in Belle Plaine. He enjoyed his family, dogs and horses.  He was a member of the St. Thomas Sportsman’s Club and was a lifelong member of St. Thomas Catholic Church & Community.  He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Edward and Joseph Halloran.

James is survived by his wife, Mary Jean, Children, Michelle (James) Bisek of Jordan, Maureen Halloran (Steve Bloden) of Minneapolis, Margaret Halloran (Al Stoltz) of Belle Plaine, Thomas (Kathleen) Halloran of Minnetrista, Jon Halloran of New Prague, Ryan Halloran of Belle Plaine, 12 Grandchildren, Sisters, Ruth Johnson of Madelia, Doris (Lyle) Solie of Eden Prairie, Mary Louise (Don) Hayden of Le Center, brother, John Halloran of Belle Plaine.
