David Patrick Holicky, 77

David Patrick Holicky, age 77, of Le Center, passed away on Tuesday, December 3, 2024, at Bayside Manor in Gaylord. Prior to that he lived at Pheasants Ridge Memory Care in St. Peter. Dave’s journey has ended after living with ALZ for 10 years. Visitation will be held on Monday, December 9, from 9-10:30 a.m. at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church at German Lake. Funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Pastor Richard Jorgensen, officiating. Interment will be in the St. Paul’s German Lake Cemetery. Military Honors will be provided by the Le Center area Veterans Honor Guard.

 David was born on August 8, 1947, to parents Wilbur and Margorie Holicky in Faribault. He graduated from McKinley High School in Le Center in 1966. October of 1966, he enlisted in the Air Force for 4 years. He met and fell in love with his one love, Vicky Harty, in high school and they married August 21, 1967, in Bessemer, Michigan. Dave was stationed at George AFB in the Mojave Desert, Dave and Vicky lived in Victorville California where they met and became friends with other military couples. After leaving the military he began working at GTA Feeds in Le Center, he became manager of Montgomery elevator before retirement. He traveled Ttomany towns to do maintenance on grain elevators and many other projects. He was diagnosed with dementia one year after retiring.

 He became a great woodworker and many of his family have his creations. Mr. Fix It was the best to describe Dave, it broke-he fixed it. Dave had a great love and compassion for all animals, especially cats, Bria and Lucy whom he leaves behind.

 David is survived by his wife, Vicky of 57 years; brother, Steven (Patti) Holicky; brothers-in-law, Jack Thomas, Gary (Rita) Harty, and Ralph Geyer  of Hinkley; nieces, Kim (Jason) James, Jeana Thomas and Flynn, Dawn Pruit, and Bud and Maura; nephew, Mike Harty.

 David is preceded in death by his parents, Wilbur and Marjorie Holicky; sister, JoAnn Holicky Thomas; many uncles and aunts.

 David is to be remembered and loved as a happy mellow fun guy, hardworking, a great husband and friend who could never be replaced.
