New Prague High School will face Mahtomedi in the Class AAA baseball state championship Friday, June 16, 4:30 p.m., at CHS Field in St. Paul.
The Trojans reached the championship game with a dramatic, come-from-behind 6-5 win over Monticello Wednesday, June 14, at the Mini Met in Jordan. The Zephyrs arrive at the title tilt off a 3-1 win over Grand Rapids Wednesday in Jordan.
Mahtomedi is 19-6 and 11-5 in conference play. They are 2-0 in one-run games and 11-3 in their last 14 games. The Trojans are 23-3, 12-2 in conference play. New Prague is 2-1 in one-run games and has won its last 14 games.

In the state tournament’s Class AAA third-place game, Monticello defeated Grand Rapids, 7-2.
