Charlotte Marie Hager, 96

Charlotte Marie Hager, age 96, of Waterville, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 20, 2026, at her home at Traditions in Waterville.

Born on January 22, 1930, in Waterville, Minnesota, she was the oldest of five siblings born to Bennie and Clara (Frodl) Gregor. She graduated from Waterville High School and went on to attend the Minneapolis School of Cosmetology. On November 6, 1951, she was united in marriage to Norman Hager at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Waterville.

Shortly after their marriage, she and Norman moved to California before returning to Minnesota in 1958. She took great pride in being a working mother and raising five active children. She worked at E.F. Johnson Co. in Waseca for more than 20 years before retiring.

She enjoyed working in her flower and vegetable gardens and took pride in canning, baking, and cooking for her family. According to her children, she made the best fried chicken. Charlotte also loved fishing with her family. She and Norman enjoyed traveling, both throughout the United States and internationally.

Charlotte was a woman of strong faith and was active throughout her life at Holy Trinity Catholic Church. She served on the funeral committee, was a member of the quilters, and served as a Eucharistic Minister.

She is survived by her children, Barb Hager-Olsen of St. Paul, Mike (Paula) Hager of Hibbing, Gary (Nicole) Hager of Janesville, Kevin (Annette) Hager of Hamilton, MI, and Marianne (Todd) Loader of Waterville; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother, Ronald (Judy) Gregor of Waterville; sister-in-law, Anne Gregor of Farmington; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son-in-law, Glenn Olsen; sisters, Joan (Milo) Hermel and Lorraine (Bob) Downhaur; brother, Arnold Gregor; and sister-in-law, Mayonne (Larry) Schlosser.

Visitation was held on Monday, August 24, 2026, from 4-7 p.m. at the Waterville Chapel of Dennis-Steffel-Omtvedt Funeral and Cremation Service.

 Funeral services were held on Tuesday, August 25, 2026, at 10 a.m. at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Waterville. Burial followed at Calvary Cemetery in Waterville.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.
